I am committed to building a world-class educational environment in Utah. Public education is personal for me. My boys attend public schools. My daughter is enrolled in Alpine School District's wonderful special education program. My wife is an educator. And I am a proud graduate of Orem High School. As a parent, taxpayer, and proud product of our public schools, I deeply understand the critical importance of a robust public education system.

Solutions must always matter more than extreme ideological agendas. I will work tirelessly to ensure our public education system thrives and reaches its full potential, providing every student with the quality education they deserve.
A Common Sense Approach to Excellence
By focusing on practical solutions and fostering collaboration, my aim is to elevate Utah's public schools to be second to none. I will advocate for improved resources, support our dedicated educators, and create an inclusive environment where all students can succeed. Civility is essential. The State Board of Education should never be used to settle petty personal grievances, ostracize members of our community, or demonize educators who have dedicated their lives to teaching our children. I will always set a tone of positivity and inclusion while improving public education in our state.
A Career of Public Service
I bring over 19 years of experience as a public servant to the Utah State Board of Education. I am committed to conserving and enhancing our public schools to ensure every student receives a high-quality education. Throughout my career, I’ve engaged in collaborative work with legislators to foster an environment of positivity and progress.
My experience as a Utah State Park Ranger has equipped me with the skills to protect and enhance our resources. I will apply these same principles to safeguard and improve our schools, and our most important natural resource - our children.
